The Dark Side of Whales & Dolphins in Captivity - Philadelphia, PA
Film Screening With Q&A and Book Signing

Wed, 10 Oct, 2012 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM

On Wednesday, October 10, 2012, Sea Shepherd Philadelphia, along with the local humane education organization 22reasons will be presenting a free screening of the documentary "Lolita - Slave to Entertainment."  Lolita is an Orca confined in a small tank at the Miami Seaquarium since 1970 when she was taken from her family pod in the Salish Sea of Whidbey Island, WA - she was just two years old.  Just this summer (August 2012), PETA and the Animal Legal Defense Fund filed a lawsuit against the USDA challenging the renewal of Miami Seaquarium's license.

Tim Gorski, writer, director and editor of this film as well as the recently released "How I Became an Elephant", will speak about his experiences filming the documentary.

"This provocative and revealing must-see documentary uniquely addresses man's relationship with wildlife.  It speaks not only to animal lovers and activists, but to anyone at all who may have been duped by marine theme park propaganda.  In fact, this is the film that an entire industry would rather you not see. " ~ Valerie Silidker - Vice President, Rattle the Cage Productions
