World Love for Dolphins Day - Educational Demo

Saturday, February 16, 2019 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Show your love for dolphins on World Love for Dolphins Day!

Please join us for a peaceful educational demonstration (NOT a protest) to help raise awareness of how our dolphin friends suffer in captivity while being used for entertainment purposes.

THE ISSUE: Dolphin families are separated and family members are killed in Taiji, Japan, when looking for the “perfect” young dolphin to sell to dolphinariums. Dolphins are sociable sentient beings and need to swim large distances daily to be in their natural state. A life in captivity means manual breeding, tube feedings, medical procedures, and other inhumane treatment. CAPTIVITY IS CRUEL.

THE GOOD NEWS! Canadians agree that captivity is cruel. Bill S-203 “Ending the Captivity of Whales and Dolphins Act” is currently in the House of Commons and the vote is expected to happen this spring. If the bill passes, it would ban future dolphin and whale captivity throughout Canada, ban any new dolphinariums from being built, and ban the breeding and importation of dolphins and whales at any current facilities.

LET’S KEEP THE PRESSURE ON! Contact your local representatives to ask them to support Bill S-203 and JOIN US ON FEBRUARY 16TH from 2pm to 4pm!
